The sealed series
Every navigator keeps one point that does not move.
For most of human history, direction came from a single star that held still while everything else turned. The North Star sets that idea in iron that crossed space for billions of years before it reached the ground.
The pattern around the star is not decoration. It is the metal’s own crystal structure, revealed by etching — a record of time that nothing industrial can imitate.
Direction is not given by the sky. It is chosen, and then kept.
The pattern
Written in the metal, not in the stars.
The geometric lines on the surface are the Widmanstätten pattern — interlocking bands of kamacite and taenite that form only as an asteroid core cools at roughly 10–40 °C per million years. It cannot be reproduced industrially. Because the structure runs through the whole metal, no two cuts are the same.
